Joanne was born in Lambeth, London. She grew up in leafy Surrey and at 21 years attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the UK where she trained for three years as an actress.
Since graduating she has had a full and varied career in Theatre, TV, Radio, Voiceovers and film.
