I've been making movies since high school. When my friends and I took over the morning announcements, we saw an opportunity to make short films for a captive audience...and by that, I mean an audience that literally HAD to watch; the entire school was held hostage by our silliness. Out of necessity, I learned the basics of filmmaking: acting, writing, directing, editing, visual effects, scoring...you name it; I was the Robert Rodriguez of morning announcements.

All of these skills came in handy when I attended the University of Miami's film school. After making the leap to Los Angeles, I've continued to hone my craft by working in the editing room for studio films like "Hot Tub Time Machine" and "The Muppets", on the sets of films like "The Hangover Part III" and as a Producer for ESPN. All the while, I continue to write, direct and edit my own films.

With "user_" I wanted to make a modern version of "When a Stranger Calls" using the devices with which we interact daily. We made it for no money and using only mobile phones; a nice change of pace from the usual complicated and busy sets. The final result speaks for itself as a fun, creepy little movie.

A graduate of NYFA Los Angeles in Directing, Editing and Scriptwriting, Carlos Melendez has directed nine short films, including Chalino Rivera (2008), Silver Star (2009), Beast (2010), Red Light (2011), The Host (2013), Clickbait (2018) all of which screened at many international film festivals.

His first feature film, After School (2014), was also Carlos’s directorial debut in the USA, and won Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Feature Film awards at the Encuentro Mundial de Cine 2014.

Histeria (2016), Carlos’s second feature film, celebrated its world premiere at the Merida Yucatan International Film Festival 2016, and won the Best Director award at the Macabro International Horror Film Festival 2016 in Mexico City, as well as Best Drama Feature Film at the Sydney Indie Film Festival 2016.

Carlos was part of anthology horror feature film Mexico Barbaro II (2017), the film premiered at the 2017 Fantaspoa International Film Festival in Brazil, and has screened at over 20 film festivals around the world.

He directed 3 episodes for The Unknown Hitman (2019) streaming on Netflix worldwide.

Egyptian-born, Australian film director/writer/producer, Alex Proyas grew up in inner-city Sydney. A passion for film from an early age, his early shorts were acclaimed, including numerous outstanding short film awards and nominations at London, Melbourne, Cannes et al international film festivals.
He made his first feature, SPIRITS OF THE AIR; GREMLINS OF THE CLOUDS in 1989 and in 1994 he completed THE CROW, starring Brandon Lee, which went on to major critical & commercial success and bone fide cult status. In 1998, DARK CITY, starring Rufus Sewell, Keifer Sutherland, Richard O’Brien, Jennifer Connelly and William Hurt, earned its place as a cult classic also.
In 2002 Proyas made GARAGE DAYS (2002) starring Kick Gurry, Pia Miranda and Maya Stange which was followed by I, ROBOT (2004) starring Will Smith, Proyas’ greatest commercial success to date. And in 2008 he completed KNOWING starring Nicolas Cage & Rose Byrne which became another major world- wide success for Proyas. And most recently GODS OF EGYPT (2016) starring Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush & Nikolaj Coster Waldau.
Proyas lives in Sydney with his wife and daughter and is currently planning his future projects and building a virtual production studio: HERETIC FOUNDATION.

Minsun Park & Teddy Tenenbaum are a writing/directing team with combined experience in features and television, including pilot sales, staff writing, feature spec sales, and feature and television assignments. They have written separately and together, and currently write both as a team and as solo writers. They specialize in genre writing, including horror, thriller, and action, typically with a humorous edge. With Minsun's background as an Asian-American woman born in Korea and Teddy's experience as a white dude from Ohio, they cover a lot of bases.
