Synopsis:
A Stranger enters a diner to close out a prior mission with a woman whom he helped change her future and to save her life. While at the diner, he approaches a waitress and asks her if she had the opportunity to change her future would she want to indulge…? She accepts and the Stranger shows her a polaroid picture of a patron at the diner wielding a large knife. She asks if it’s real. He responds with a nod. He tells her: “Only if you sign this ledger will you be able to alter the future. Your life depends on it.” The waitress then takes the photo and shows it to the cook. The cook is somewhat puzzled asking if this is some kind of a gag. “It’s not”. He tells the waitress he’s taking a break and circles around to the counter to sit by the man in the photo and takes a large knife with him. The man at the counter eyes the knife and sits in silence. Just then, a thug with a gun enters the diner and tells everyone to to empty their pockets as well as the register. The cook says “Take what you want and leave us alone. We don’t want any trouble”. The man next to him demands the thug to put his gun away. This angers the thug and won’t stand for the man’s attitude and aims the gun his way. A second thug enters the diner, this one is a rookie at pulling off a heist. The man at the counter proceeds to take his watch off. The thug questions him why. The man says “Never kill a man while wearing a good watch”. The man springs into action and stabs the Thug in the chest sending him to the floor. The rookie thug heads for the door as the man turns and throws the knife killing the rookie. The man tells the waitress and the cook to call the police as he steps outside to have a smoke. The Stranger pulls up in his vehicle outside with his ledger to have the waitress sign out.
