Daniel is an NYC-based director for Stag Pictures. His previous film, Uncaged, was distributed by RLJ Entertainment before landing on Netflix streaming. Pledge, his second feature, is making its U.S. Premiere at Screamfest after world premiering at Fantasia this past July. Daniel is a big fan of the Lakers, especially Lonzo Ball.
After over ten years directing corporate advertising films, the time had come to embark on some personal projects. First, I directed two documentaries profiling artists whose ultimate craft is to shape and color our emotions and dreams. It was the success of both films on the festival circuit that gave me the confidence to direct Distortion. This project, though ambitious, is simply the fulfillment of a lifelong passion for genre film. To create the atmosphere of Distortion, I watched hundreds of films and took note of all the particular thrills and jolts that imbue genre film with its unique power to captivate viewers. Before she started her bachelor studies in Switzerland, Xheni Alushi (1991) worked for a project office at the Albanian ministry of culture. She came about film when she worked on short film productions at the Academy of the Arts in Tirana, Albania. She loves to write short stories. The script for EVA is developed out of one of these stories.
After finishing his Studies at ESCAC (Catalonia Film School) he directed short films such as “Corre” (2002) and “Corre 2” (2003). In 2009 released “Versus” (produced by 24 Mentiras), his first full lenght feature. This independent action film was premiered at Sitges International Film Festival and had a long haul in festivals around the world. Since then he has been working as advertising director (nowdays exclusively for Atresmedia). “La Guarida / The Den” is his comeback to fiction.
Pol Barrós (Barcelona, 1988) starts showing his perso- nal side, after some short lms (GYNOID, 2015; Sama- ritan, 2017), music videos and advertisement projects. Currently, with his own production company (alter.), achieves to direct a work to explore his own artistic comfort, and a path of narrative experimentation. CODA SACRA (2018) is his last ction lm-work, and promises not to leave anyone indifferent.
Director & Writer Mike Mort has produced some of the most iconic stop-motion animation since the early 90’s. Mike is known for his innovative & slapstick style of animation which has earnt him multiple prestigious awards. In 2014 Mike co-founded Animortal Studio, a state of the art stop-motion studio in South Wales. Here, Mike has recently completed his debut feature film Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires, a passion project based on a character created previously during his school days.
Jonas Gramming is a Swedish director, working with both narrative fiction and animation. As Creative director at Swedish film production company Tussilago since 2007, he has also directed a wide range of projects, from international commercials to music videos.
John William Ross grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He studied at the University of Southern California earning a degree in Cinema-Television Production, then continued his studies at the California Institute of the Arts receiving an MFA in Writing. He is a director and writer known for his unique vision in horror.
