About the Director

Peter Czikrai - born on 12th May 1981 in Bratislava, attained bachelor degree in Animation and being graduated in Film and Television Direction from Academy of Perfoming Arts. Peter is a big fan of horror scenes and exploitation genre. He has been dedicated to animation film for nine years, makes advertising storyboards and writes headlines for TV trailers.

The Good night is the director’s debut work within horror genre. He set to cover the costs of the whole production himself which, as he admitted, brought about a few obstacles, however priceless experiences in the end. For all participants – from composers to actors – recasting the screenplay into gripping visual form came as real trial for each of them. Being sealed into sturdy masks lend role players not only peculiar appearance but was probably the hardest part of their performance. However, based on that, they all showed strong determination. In some cases, making-up visual identity of the heroins took nearly 7 hours before shooting proceeded. Ironically, shooting gory scenes was sometimes hilarious session – blood spread out on the whole set. And, however, far from being cheery, shooting climax of plot was labour of Hercules.

About the Director

Canadian filmmaker Scott Belyea admits to creating at least eight short films as a writer/director/ editor, though the actual total remains unknown. The number is in fact, much higher. His films often screen internationally and have acquired a few awards which collect an unusual amount of dust on a shelf in his tiny apartment. The word "best" can be found somewhere on most of these awards, while accompanying words include directing, acting, editing, cinematography, death and film.

Some of these titles of the shorts are Idaho, Soylent Red, Afterbirth, Ten Minutes Before Showtime, Nomansland and Children of the Dark. The handful of people across the world who have seen these films are said to have liked them, loved them or loathed them. None have surpassed $100 million at the box office.

A Vancouver film professional, he's worked for many productions of varying budgets in a handful of departments, and most recently enjoys his role as an director, editor or post production supervisor for the next company with an upcoming project. He currently works for that company.

Scott resides in Vancouver, Canada where he strives to perfect films that are equal parts fast, cheap and good. His life goal is to prove all three are possible.

A leading commercials director, John has worked for major brands including Guinness, Heineken & Coca-Cola. Previous film work includes short films 'Two Fat Ladies' (Best Directorial Debut, Cork Film Festival 2003; IFTA nomination 2004) and 'Venom' (Galway Film Fleadh; TCM Classic Shorts Award, London Film Festival 2006). John directed 3 mini-episodes of ‘Doctor Who’ as well as sequences on the television dramas ‘Camelot’ (Starz) and ‘Vikings’ (History Channel).

About the Director

A graduate of the University of Miami Film School, Marwan Abderrazzaq is a veteran video game producer whose credits include world-renowned games like Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: World at War. In 2010 Mr. Abderrazzaq directed and produced his first short film Over Cards in 2010, which went on to win several festival awards around the world. Desolate Road is his second short film.

About the Director

John Fitzpatrick is an award winning independent film director and professional editor. He holds bachelors degrees in Media Arts and English Literature. He began his filmmaking career at a young age; his first festival film was a documentary short that ultimately garnered a $20,000 research grant for his high school’s Marine Chemistry department. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2001, John has edited numerous TV shows, music videos and promotional material for various studios and networks such as Warner Brothers, NBC, TBS, Bravo, MTV and DC Comics. He has served as supervising editor on three cable shows: 10 Items or Less (TBS), Unbeatable Banzuke (G4), and The Dub Magazine Project (MTV2). The latter ranked highest in MTV2 history.

John has directed over 20 shorts with numerous accolades and festival screenings and an award winning independent feature, “Mercy”. His twelve episode web series, “Phantom Rabbit Hitman” premiered at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival and is partnered with YouTube. Recently, his micro budget, drama short “Just One” screened at festivals across the country. In addition to “Skypemare”, John has two other exciting shorts slated for release in 2014: the Hitchcockian thriller “Pendulum” and the film noir “Reflex”.

About the Director

Born in Carshalton Surrey in 1981, Paul displayed a keen love for movies (especially the horror genre) as early as three years old after watching An American Werewolf In London. Growing up he exposed himself to all walks of the genre from the classic Universal monsters, the Hammer horror flicks and later the 80s slashers, with Freddy Krueger being a favorite at a young age. He studied Media and English combined with Psychology and Politics at college between 1997 and 2000, and then went on to study three years at the University of East London for a BA Hons degree in Film History. Since the late 90s Paul has been a published film journalist, specializing in retrospectives on classic horror movies that he used to watch growing up. In early 2006 in joined the writing team at HorrorHound magazine, where he continues to have worked printed in every issue. At the beginning of 2007 Paul began work on a feature length retrospective on the first horror movie he ever saw, An American Werewolf In London. Currently in early production, the documentary will cover the making of the film and feature interviews with the entire cast and crew 25-years on. The documentary is expected to be completed in early 2008.

After a childhood of making monsters and watching movies, (often at the same time) Steve completed film school and decided to focus on becoming a special effects artist fulltime.

After working on films such as Star Wars EPII, The Matrix Reloaded, Ghost Ship and the Spierig brother’s UNDEAD, Steve had the pleasure of showcasing his talent to Academy Award winner Richard Taylor who promptly offered him work in New Zealand on Peter Jackson’s King Kong.

After five years continuing FX work at Weta Workshop, Steve relocated back to Australia to design the Vampire FX for the Spierig brother’s next film, Daybreakers. Now basing himself in Queensland, he went on to design Special Makeup FX for the films, BAIT 3D, Mental, The Jungle and What We Do In The Shadows.

Most recently, Steve has designed the Makeup FX for PREDESTINATION – his latest collaboration with the Spierig Brothers.

Now focusing on telling his own stories, Steve has recently completed his short film Mullet Gut, which was written and made to showcase his work outside of Special Effects.

Steve is currently prepping to shoot his new short film, ABDUCT.

About the Director

Caroline Coutts was born in Wick, Scotland and moved to Canada with her family when she was three years old. She is a graduate of the Directors’ Lab at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto and has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Caroline’s previous short films include "DogBoy," the story of a feral boy raised by dogs in an anonymous city, "The Lonely Passion of Petar the Pig Farmer," a surreal Wagnerian fable about a lonely man and his search for the perfect mate and "The Beast of Dulle Griet," about a 16th century underground village terrorized by a faceless menace.
