Day for Nite (Nuit Americhèn) (Italy) – Directed by Federico Greco – An Italian director and two actors shoot the key scenes of a no-budget-badly-English-spoken-splatter-horror-movie in a strange villa on the outskirts of Rome. But something, obviously, goes wrong.

Dead Hearts (Canada) – Directed by Stephen W. Martin – A young mortician learns that not even death can stand in the way of true love. A whimsical, Gothic bedtime story filled with love, loss, taxidermy, kung-fu, and biker werewolves. BEST HORROR COMEDY SHORT

Downstairs (US) – Directed by Lee Boxleitner – A staunch security guard has a night from Hell when his curiosity sends him investigating what goes on… Downstairs.

DUI (US) – Directed by Nicholas Kramer – DUI is a 16-minute thrill ride! This chilling suspense horror thriller tells a gripping story of an everyday young couple who land in the wrong place at the worst time. It contains a compelling story, tense plot twists, and a claustrophobic sense of hopeless desperation. David Ross Paterson, Jenna Stone, and Chase Clarke give outstanding performances that will pull you in and leave you on the edge of your seat.

Evil Twin (Germany) – Directed by Christian Pfeil – The film begins at the end of a robbery. The main characters, the up-market criminals, are old friends and also two sets of brothers. In the job they just completed, teleportation technology was stolen, and this brought out the worst in one of them. The Evil Twin begins a fight that catapults them back and forth through time and space; nobody knows which way this fight will go or the next place the devices will send them… Who will be the winner in this brotherly battle and have control of the teleportation and the gang?

Facsimile (UK) – Directed by Justin Villiers – Three eco-activists break into a warehouse in search of a police device that they plan to destroy. What they find is something they could never have imagined…

But one night he finds himself confronted by haunting visions and wonders if his own guilt is tormenting him… or something far more insidious.

In the Deathroom (Germany) – Directed by Milos Savic – Fletcher, an unassuming nobody, tells his psychiatrist how he was mistakenly captured by a mysterious secret intelligence service. Supposedly, this intelligence has tried to manipulate him into an elaborate game of power in order to break his spirit. Intruders (UK) – Directed by Santiago Menghini – In the aftermath of a deadly haunting in a small suburban home, a sinister omnipresent entity proceeds to cause havoc in the private lives of a young boy, an unsuspecting teen, and an absent-minded inspector.

The Landing (Australia) – Directed by Josh Tanner – A man returns to the Midwestern farm of his childhood on a desperate mission to unearth the horrifying truth of what landed there in the summer of 1960. BEST SHORT

The Last Halloween (Canada) – Directed by Marc Roussel – The city is quiet, its streets deserted. It doesn’t much feel like Halloween, and yet, four young trick-or-treaters – a Ghost, a Devil, a Grim Reaper, and a Witch – make their way through the night, door to door and house by house, gathering up an unlikely harvest of kindness amid the devastated wreckage of society’s collapse. In a world where the only rule is that there are no rules anymore, it is perhaps a fitting irony that it should all come down to this… a simple choice between two starkly different options. The Last Halloween is here at last, and the time has come to make your choice. So, what will it be? Trick? Or treat?

Mineral (US) – Directed by Michael Marino – After painfully passing a kidney stone, a slob discovers that a new breed of monster has invaded his home with deadly intentions.

Monstro! (US) – Directed by Christopher Romano – A rickety scientific expedition searches the dark Amazon for a mythic creature… but the creature, it seems, has a less than mythic agenda!

MOTH (Man of the House) (UK) – Directed by O- T Fagbenle – We follow a 9-year-old boy in a post-apocalyptic world trying to look after his sick mother. Can he stay alive? Remain a child? Can he save his mother? On a deeper level the film is inspired by the lives of children who grow up with mentally ill or addict parents. In many ways it’s a film about abandonment of the worst kind – abandoned even though your parent is still present.

Mr. Dentonn (Spain) – Directed by Ivan Villamel – On a cold winter night Laura reads his brother, David, the story of a strange creature that attacks children. Suddenly a shiver runs Laura’s body, feeling a strange presence in the house. It’s him.

The Muck (US) – Directed by Tony Wash – Laverne arrives home and decides to relax in the bathtub. She strips down, settles into the tub, and closes her eyes. Serenity at last… or so she thought! The Muck will leave you never wanting to take a bath again!

Naked Zombie Girl (US) – Directed by Rickey Bird – Two prostitutes and their friend, Tony, have just escaped a zombie attack in a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. Unfortunately, Tony has been bitten and is about to turn into a zombie. That’s all you really need to know other than star Meghan Chadeayne somehow loses her dress and goes on a maddening zombie-killing spree.

The Quota (US) – Directed by Cush – Lucy and Viv clean up messes for the county, and they’re having a bad day. Viv’s husband has just left her, and supervisor Lucy struggles to figure out how the two will make their numbers or lose their jobs. On a routine stop the ladies are led into a very remote area by a psycho killer. Yeah, their day just got worse.

Reaver (US) – Directed by Len LoBiondo – One year after the mysterious disappearance of his father, Chris has taken on the responsibility of raising his rebellious younger sister, Julie. Haunted by memories of his father’s obsessive belief in a supernatural threat to the family, Chris has done his best to move on, keeping the struggling family unit on track. As Chris finally begins to make a clean break with the past, tensions between the siblings reach a breaking point, and something terrible descends upon the house…

Sentient (US) – Directed by Abel Vang and Burlee Vang – Adam, the sole survivor of his platoon, is taken hostage by a ragtag group of Afghan insurgents. But as his captors interrogate him, they quickly discover the terrifying truth that he is not who he appears to be.

Sequence (US) – Directed by Carles Torrens – Sequence tells the story of Billy, an average Joe whose life gets turned upside down literally overnight, as he wakes up one morning to realize the entire world has dreamed about him the night before. To make things worse, the dream was allegedly so traumatic that his girlfriend runs away from him, he gets fired from his job, and his run-ins with strangers get progressively more violent. Will Billy survive the weirdest, wildest day of his meager existence?

Service (US) – Directed by Jerry Pyle – Lucy and her daughter get trapped in a closet by a home invader in a house she was hired to clean.

Silk (US) – Directed by Rob Himebaugh – After acquiring a jar of rare silk from the vast desert expanse of Afghanistan, a CIA field operative becomes impregnated by the desert spider hidden inside and later gives birth to a brood of hungry spiderlings that eat her alive.

Slut (US) – Directed by Chloe Okuno – Maddy is 16 years old. She lives alone with her sick grandmother in a rundown farmhouse off a highway in Nowheresville, Texas. She does her best to take care of her mute, wheelchair-bound grandmother, but life at home is lonely and depressing. So, like everyone else within a 20-mile radius, Maddy spends her free time at the only place with half a pulse: the local roller rink. With her shabby clothes, large glasses, and dangerous naiveté, Maddy is a hopeless misfit amongst her peers. Determined to embrace her inner vixen, Maddy looks to a girl named Jolee – beautiful, blonde, and unapologetically promiscuous – as a sort of model for what attracts men. Unfortunately for Maddy, it’s just at this time that an older, charismatic Stranger enters her life, a man whose charm masks the impulses of a murderous, misogynistic psychopath.

Timothy (Spain) – Directed by Marc Martinez – Simon is a little boy who has to deal with his babysitter, Sonia, a total nuisance. But that same night Simon will receive an unexpected visitor, Timothy, the main character of Simon’s favorite show, a visit he will never forget.

To the Other Side (Spain) – Directed by Alicia Albares – Sara Sanabria, writer, and his lover, Adolfo Santolaya, lived their lives absorbed by just one obsession: the belief that, hidden in an abandoned mansion, there was a gate that ended in an unknown dimension. Seeking the path of his retired teacher, Enrique will reach the place where the track of the couple got lost. He will meet an odd old man who hides a lot of secrets, and he will immerse Enrique into the legend of Sara. Surrounded by mystery, he will have to discover the truth and dare to cross the last frontier.

The Tour (UK) – Directed by Damon Rickard and Alex Mathieson – Darkmoor Manor is England’s most haunted house, its doors closed to the public. It is now just part of a tour which helps attracts visitors to a struggling town. That is, until the tour guide (Tom Gordon), trying to impress two attractive American visitors (Jessica Cameron and Heather Dorff), promises to get them inside. But none of them could be prepared for what was waiting within the shadows of the house.

The Visitant (US) – Directed by Nick Peterson – A mother protects her children from a demon.

Welcome to the Building (US) – Directed by Matt Tente – Welcome to the Building explores an innocent crush and online infatuation that takes a dark and dangerous turn after Clare moves next door to an unassuming and unstable neighbor. Inspired by classic thrillers, the film brings a contemporary approach to the genre, showing us just how vulnerable we are online, in our everyday lives, and when those two worlds intersect. This shockingly realistic portrayal of an obsessive stalker will leave audiences fearing the digital devices that we have all come to rely on.

Zero (Australia) – Directed by Chris Smellin and Robert Smellin – A young mother must come to terms with letting go of the thing she loves the most, her only son. She must do the deed herself for he is subject zero, the undead…

Zugar Zombie (Colombia) – Directed by Alexander Quezada – Zugar Zombie tells a story that from irony portrays a reflection of how things work in a small Latin American society.
